I’VE NEVER TAKEN A SPINNING CLASS BEFORE. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Every class is a little different, but one of the great things about a spinning program is that it is adaptable to your fitness level. Remember that there’s no competition. Listen to your body and adjust the resistance on your bike accordingly. If you’re a first timer let your instructor know. He or she can make sure your bike is properly adjusted and give you a rundown on our core movements and program fundamentals to increase your strength and improve your overall fitness. The front desk staff is there to answer any questions that you may have and also make sure your bike fits accordingly.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR CLASS?
Attire: Comfortable workout attire is all you need to get started. Some people find padded cycling shorts helpful, as well as headbands to catch sweat during your ride. Also, we recommend wearing workout gear that is not too hot. We have water for purchase but if you bring your own water bottle you can fill it up in our convenient water station.
Towel: We are happy to provide you with complimentary towels, please make sure to leave them in the designated bins when you leave class.
Shoes: Shoes are available to rent for $2 per class
If you have rented a pair from us, they must be returned in the designated bin after class. All shoes are accounted for after class. If your shoes are missing from the bin, your account will be charged full price for the shoes you have rented under your name.
IF I HAVE AN INJURY FROM ANOTHER SPORT IS SPINNING CLASS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE?
While taking a Spinning class may be an excellent way to cross train, please make sure your doctor feels this is an appropriate method of training in your current condition. Before participating in any activity, all participants are required to sign a disclaimer/waiver. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant please let us know. As with any new physical activity you should always consult your doctor first. We do not allow multiple classes per day to be taken, this is for your safety.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR A SPINNING CLASS PARTICIPANT?
Our minimum age requirement is 12. If you are under the age of 18, we require a parental consent. Your parent or legal guardian needs to accompany you to the studio, so they can sign a release form with a copy of their ID. This is for insurance liability purposes. Feel free to sign up for class, but make sure you are accompanied by your parent when coming in for your first class. Please also consider these factors as well when determining whether your kids are ready for class. If kids are going to participate, they need to be mature and responsible enough to follow the safety rules. It can sometimes be tempting for kids to pedal as fast as they can, and that can be unsafe. Because the Spinner is a fixed gear bike, the weight of the flywheel can turn the pedals at a very high speed with a lot of momentum if there’s not enough resistance.
